Israel attacks Lebanon again and Washington urges Americans to leave the country: 351 days of war in the Middle East

The conflict in the Middle East continues to escalate. This Saturday, Israel announced new air strikes against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, following a deadly bombing that targeted the Islamist movement in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Friday.

“The Israeli army is attacking positions belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon”, revealed the Israeli army, recalling that, in similar attacks on Friday, at least 16 fighters from the movement were killed.

The worsening of the conflict led Washington to ask Americans to leave the country.

“Due to the unpredictable nature of the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel and recent explosions throughout Lebanon, including in Beirut, the U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens to leave Lebanon while commercial options remain available,” it announced. the State Department.

Hezbollah said it fired salvos of Katyusha rockets at two military sites in northern Israel. “[Foi uma] response to enemy attacks in southern Lebanon,” the group said.

Hezbollah confirmed today that two of its commanders died in Friday’s Israeli attack near Beirut, as well as the death of 16 members of the elite force, admitting it had suffered a new blow.

The Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, canceled his participation in the UN General Assembly, which was taking place in New York, following the Israeli attacks that provoked a new escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
