Risto Mejide, forced to apologize publicly for what happened on ‘Got Talent’: “I have agreed to direct the program”
Nor is it the first time Risto Mejide surprises with his decisions in ‘Got Talent’although he has rarely caused such a big stir with one of them. The jury of the Telecinco contest has been involved in one of the biggest controversies of the program and, all of this, for going against their colleagues. This, apparently, has earned him a management attention call and the publication of an apology on social networks.
It all happened during the last installment of ‘Got Talent’, where he received numerous people willing to demonstrate their particular skills with decent numbers to move on to the next phase. The bar, once again, seemed to be very high and earning a place was going to be difficult. Not so for one of them.
Kimberly, an enthusiastic young woman, came out on stage to versionar a Taylor Swiftbut in a way that no one expected: with belching. Something that, of course, meant the rabsolute rejection of Florentino Fernández, Tamara Falcó and Paula Echevarría. As incredible as it may seem, Risto Mejide used his ‘golden pass’ for Kimberly and sent her directly to the semi-finals. The surprised faces among the rest of the jury were astonishing.
Risto apologizes and announces a meeting with management
Given the enormous controversy, hours later Risto Mejide published a statement on his social networks, where he apologized for what happened. “As much as I would like annoy my colleagues for having said so many yeses -in my opinion undeserved- that does not justify that I ended up giving a pass to a number that clearly did not deserve it,” he explains.
“Starting tomorrow I commit to trying to correct the mistake. I have arranged to meet with the program’s management to have a talk this week.. We will inform you in the next program. Thank you for your understanding,” Risto says in his statement.
