Riqui Puig adds salt to football as king of the West and lives his ‘prime’ in the MLS after his exile from Barcelona
El spanish Riqui Puig scored two goals in the historic 1-3 win of Los Angeles Galaxy before the Colorado Rapids to reign in the West of the MLS (LA Galaxy is first with 61 points, 6 behind Los Angeles FC).
The former Barcelona player scored 1-2 in the 58th minute and celebrated by salting the style of the famous chef Salt Bae (Nusret Gokce).
In the 91st minute he sealed the victory of his Galaxy, making the decisive 1-3 with his second goal of the night, certifying the his team’s first victory against Colorado as visitors since 2017.

“I had never seen the idea of leaving players in Barcelona and not going on the tour with them. Maybe I understand the situation of the club and that they want to pressure their players to leave, but it can be done in another way,” explained the current Los Angeles Galaxy player.

There wasn’t a good deal because he didn’t let me train the first few weeks. If I have a contract, he can’t prohibit me from training and that’s what bothered me the most. So, I quickly made a decision and changed and found a way out. There was a good relationship between the families because they are from Terrassa,” he explained Riqui Puig in July 2023.
