Pablo Ojeda reveals what you didn’t know about chicken: “It doesn’t mean it’s healthier”

LFood is a fundamental part of our daily life, which is why we always try to find the best food options on the market. Many experts have proliferated, so to speak, of good eating, of eating in the healthiest way possible. It is true that some of these are completely true, but others add to the large number of existing myths.

One of those who is responsible for ending these myths about food is Pablo Ojeda. The nutritionist, contributor to La Sexta, is already a classic when it comes to talking about nutrition on television and radio. In addition, war is declared against those famous miracle diets, which are very dangerous for people’s health. This time, Ojeda had his usual stint on the radio program ‘Las Mañanas de Kiss’, on Kiss FM.And he decided to make some concepts clear about chicken, all under the watchful eyes of the presenters, Xavi Rodríguez and María Lama, who did not hesitate to ask any of the questions that the nutritionist offered.

Pablo Ojeda, very clear about these chicken beliefs

Ojeda started strong and dismantled the first belief with these words: “The chicken, even if it is yellow, does not mean it is healthier, they charge you five euros more. They have simply given it corn, which is yellow and turns yellow.” Something that many people continue to believe today.

Another belief is regarding the skin of the chicken, an area that some usually eat and others do not; Ojeda, regarding this, said: “The skin of the chicken is eaten, it can be eaten perfectly, and it is also an area with a lot of protein, a good amount of fat, but it does not have many more calories than chicken, about 50 or 70.”

Finally, it ended with an act that is performed on the chicken, washing it. Some do it and others don’t, Pablo Ojeda was forceful and said: “You never have to clean it, never. (…) If I start cleaning the chicken and dry it with the cloth, I don’t throw the friendly cloth in the wash, I start cleaning the board and other things, and if I have caught some bacteria from the chicken, I am experiencing cross contamination.”
