Oliver Bearman signs for Haas for 2025

Oliver Bearman will make the jump to Formula 1 in 2025 with Haas. The Briton will replace Nico Hülkenberg as the starting driver of the American team. The 19-year-old has signed a multi-year contract and the only unknown that remains in the American team is who his partner will be.

The Briton comes from the Ferrari Academy and is a reserve driver for both teams. He has already left his mark on Formula 1 this season in Saudi Arabia when he had to replace Carlos Sainz due to his appendicitis. The young driver left a very good feeling in the paddock after a great seventh place.

This signing has been completed after several training sessions for the Briton with the American team, both this year and last. In 2021 he triumphed in ADAC Formula 4 and Italian Formula 4, the following year he took a step forward by moving up to Formula 3 where he finished third. His growth did not stop and he made the jump to Formula 2 where he impressed with his good results.

A new young promise

He belongs to the Ferrari Academy and is the reserve driver for both Haas and the transalpine team. With this signing, the 19-year-old becomes the first to complete the ladder to Formula 1, since Logan Sargeant did so in 2022..

The pilot did not want to forget those who helped him in his first steps. “Many thanks also to the Ferrari Young Drivers Academy, I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you. Thank you for preparing me from Formula 4 for this incredible opportunity.”said the British.

The jump to the queen category

Next season Bearman will begin his first year as a regular Formula 1 driver. Even so, The 19-year-old will reach the premier category of motorsport having competed, for now, in the Arabian Grand Prix and having raced in up to six Free Practice 1 sessions. One of the free practice sessions before making the jump in 2025 will be this Friday at Silverstone.

The Briton will be able to get into the Haas VF-24 this Friday in the Silverstone free practice, the first time he has done so knowing that he will be a regular driver by 2025. “It is difficult to find the words. The American team has high hopes for the boy and assures that he has what it takes to succeed in Formula 1. The only thing that remains pending is to meet his teammate, the Briton arrives to replace Nico Hülkenberg who joined the Audi project. The American team can completely change its driver pairing, unless Kevin Magnussen manages to improve his performance and renew with the team.
