Australia takes the mixed time trial: Spain is 9th and Switzerland, the big disappointment
En a very complicated circuit, Australia won the mixed time trial held this Wednesday in Zurich. The ‘Aussie’ team flew on the asphalt in an event where Spain could only be ninth. Ben O’Connor’s team, which was second in the last Vuelta, beat the Germans by just 85 hundredths.
The outcome was most exciting with Germany putting pressure on Australia, whom they beat by less than a second, and with Italy also dreaming of being able to win gold. Spain, for its part, was 3’50” behind the winners. Very far from the fight for the medals although achieving the Top which was the objective in the previous one.
Possible medal via juniors
This Thursday is the turn for the junior road tests, both men and women. There, Spain does dream of being able to try to get a medal for both boys and girls.
