A factory of NBA stars arrives in Madrid

When the great stars of American sports are reviewed and it is about understanding its history, many of which start from the same thing: a base that promoted talent, beyond extreme cases such as LeBron James, who was trained in a very modest institute, or Tom Bradya talent that burst directly into the NFL. The others start from a root in the training circuit, starting with High School and going through university. A groundbreaking model compared to the European one, but Madrid will have a chance. Because a factory NBA stars land in the capital.

The Jazz player delighted in this session of long shots that players like Curry and Lillard would sign. The video of Spida’s shots is almost hypnotic.

In New Hampshire, the white mountains staterises Brewster Academy, washed by Lake Winnipesaukee. There 350 students are trained, and sports have high importance. Plus basketball, which has seen important names such as Will Barton (NBA classic), Melvin Ejim (one of the pillars of Unicaja), Devonte’ Graham (NBA proven scorer), TJ Warren (forward with many games in Indiana Pacers) or, especially, to Donovan Mitchell, one of the best players in the world.

Mitchell It’s a star. Since he emerged in the Utah Jazz and joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, he became a prestigious name. He closed the last season scoring 26.6 points per game and 29.6 in the Playoffs, and he begins 2024-25 on the top after scoring 21 in the victory over the Toronto Raptors that opened the campaign. AND He trained at Brewster, a program that Madrid will receive.

An innovative proposal

Brewster Academy.

It is a proposal that in 2024 landed in Madrid and has an innovation within the educational system. Because it proposes the American model and is committed to sports and specialized education, providing two key legs to the table of future stars. There the work is focused on attention to the psychological development of the students, in addition to the ability to offer teaching in open spaces.

Nobody knows if it will train Spanish stars for the sport, but precedents predict success. The last one, beyond Mitchell, is Matas Buzelis. The future of the Chicago Bulls and one of the unicorns of world basketball passed through Brewster Academy and perhaps it will be the mirror in which students who opt to train in La Moraleja, the neighborhood that will host the center, can look at themselves.
