Yen hurricane: the phenomenon that pushes Japan into the center of the storm

Tokyo is the face of a changing economy. The usual Japanese deflation (or inflation just above 0%) was replaced by the highest inflation since the 1970s, the economy was no longer on the podium of the largest in the world and successive market interventions to inflate the currency have been ineffective. The new winds blowing from the land of the samurai show little strength to weather a new storm: not since 1986 has the yen been worth so little compared to the US dollar.
