Winners of the VIth edition of the Real Estate Awards

On the 24th, the Mafra Convent hosted the Gala for the VIth edition of the Real Estate Awards, organized by Expresso and SIC Notícias. In this ceremony that highlighted the best projects carried out in 2023, 21 distinctions were awarded.

This edition of the Real Estate Awards had 72 entries, 18 more than last year. As usual, awards were awarded in eight categories, divided into subcategories.

In the new construction development category, in offices, the victory went to the Maria do Alívio Gonçalves Teixeira building, located in Braga and which prioritizes the presence of art. In tourism, the Verdelago Resort stood out, located by the sea, in the Algarve. The industry and logistics area, evaluated for the first time in this edition, had Coficab Guarda as the winner, a manufacturing unit that, due to its design, stands out in the surrounding landscape. In housing, Infinity, in Lisbon, won. This glass tower also received ex-aequo the prestigious award, a distinction granted by the jury, choosing among the night’s winners.

In the public space, the valorization and requalification of the Congida natural complex, in Freixo de Espada à Cinta, bathed by the Douro River, won. Regarding innovation in construction, Cânhamor stood out, a company that focuses on the production of hemp blocks.

Continuing with the categories of rehabilitation and reconstruction, in offices, the MB4-Office Building, in Lisbon, was distinguished. In public equipment or cultural heritage, the requalification of the Alexandre Herculano School, in Porto, whose spaces were renovated, achieved victory. In tourism, it was the turn of the Montebelo Vista Alegre Lisboa Chiado hotel, which gave new life to a property in the capital. In housing, Aliados 9, in Porto, stood out. This work also received the prestigious award ex-aequo.

The winner in the innovation in mediation category was the virtual agent, which involves artificial intelligence. In the project with economic, social and environmental impact, the University Residence of the University of Lisbon won, a space that results from the transformation of office buildings into student accommodation. In Sustainability, The First, in Guimarães, a hybrid construction project, won.

Finally, in terms of categories, interior architecture and offices, the victory went to the new headquarters of EY Portugal, which pays homage to Lisbon neighborhoods. In housing, due to the recovery carried out, Aliados 9 reached the top. In tourism, the Upon Angels hotel, in Lisbon, achieved victory.

The jury also awarded two honorable mentions, one to the rehabilitation of the Alenquer Municipal Market and the other to Black Box Leiria.

SIC Esperança joined this initiative once again and awarded a solidarity award to Casa Crédito Lisboa. A space that provides free accommodation to displaced families, whose children are undergoing cancer treatment, in the capital.

Next year, the Real Estate Awards will return.
