Ted Zenner lounges on a chair in the center of the yard, soaking up every ray of sunlight as if it were his last. Since records have been recorded, the warmest October has been experienced in the small town of Harmony, in southern Wisconsin, a state where winter temperatures reach -35°C. “We have to take advantage of this vitamin D before hibernating”, jokes the self-styled “cheese head”. Once insulting, the nickname was inspired by the profusion of the dairy industry and the population’s supposed obsession with that food. Over time, it went from being an insult to a kind of motto.
