Tom Morello’s message to ‘metalheads’: “Come to your senses. Don’t despair, act”

Tom Morello performed last weekend at the Hellfest festival, in Clisson (France), having left a message for the “metalheads” at a press conference held there.

The Rage Against the Machine guitarist stated that all of his music “has just one message, which is: the world will not change by itself†. “That depends on you,†he added.

“You are not witnesses to history, you are agents of history. History is not something that happened, it is something that is done. Once they understand that they have their hands in the gears of history and this planet, if they want to make it a more peaceful, fairer, more egalitarian, more anti-racist and healthier place in terms of the environment, no You can blame no one if this doesn’t happen and you don’t rise up.”

For the musician, what is at stake is the Earth itself: “The fate of the planet is at stake. It’s time for metalheads to come to their senses. It’s not easy but, wherever you are and whatever your job, your life… History is not something that happens, it’s what we do. Don’t despair, act”.

Remember that Tom Morello will perform solo in the next edition of Super Bock Super Bock, taking to the main stage of the Meco festival on July 18th.
