Tim Walz wore Taylor Swift’s friendship bracelets to the US vice presidential candidates’ debate
The Democratic candidate for vice president of the United States, Tim Walz, wore two of Taylor Swift’s friendship bracelets, which were given to him by his daughter, Hope, in last Tuesday’s debate with his Republican opponent, JD Vance. One bracelet had the term “joyful warrior” written on it and the other said “coach”.
“There is nothing more important in my life than being a father”, wrote the Democrat on the social network “X”, after Swift fans began sharing images of the bracelets, “I thank Hope for the lucky charm she gave me before yesterday’s debate.”
During the debate, Walz even mentioned the name of the artist, who declared her support for Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate for the upcoming US presidential elections, last month, after the debate with the Republican candidate Donald Trump.
“I’m as surprised as you are about this coalition that Kamala Harris has built: from Bernie Sanders to Dick Cheney to Taylor Swift,” said the Democrat in the debate’s final statement, “they may not agree on everything, but they are truly optimistic people. They believe in a bright future for this country and one in which our politics can be better than they are.”
