Three people shot dead on a street in Lisbon. Shooter and accomplices are on the run and PJ is investigating
Three people died this Wednesday following gunshots that occurred in a barbershop in Penha de França, Lisbon. The suspects fled the scene towards Santa Apolónia station, a source from the Public Security Police (PSP) told the Lusa agency, after the “Correio da Manhã” advanced the news.
According to information collected by Expresso from several police sources, the first signs point to the perpetrator of the triple homicide being a single person who was helped by two others to escape the scene of the crime. This suspect has already been identified by witnesses who were at the scene at the time of the shooting and the police will be trying to locate him.
To Expresso, the Judicial Police confirms the triple homicide (of two men and a woman, contrary to the initial information that pointed to three male individuals) and that it is already investigating the case. The murders were committed in the ‘Granda Pente’ barbershop, owned by one of the victims.
Initial data suggests that the barber was killed inside the commercial establishment and the other two, who were a couple, were shot outside the barbershop.
According to “Correio da Manhã”, the victims were between 24 and 43 years old.
According to the same source heard by Lusa, at 1:25 pm the PSP received information that there would be shots fired on Rua Henrique Barrilaro Ruas and activated means to go to the scene.
“When we arrived, we saw three individuals shot without vital signs,” he said. According to another police source, the victims were shot in the head and died at the scene.
The Judiciary teams on site have already collected “several testimonies” and are carrying out examinations and collecting traces to be analyzed in the laboratory. According to “SIC Notícias”, in question there may have been a disagreement between the owner of the establishment and the alleged perpetrator of the shooting. The suspect entered the barbershop and asked for a haircut, but did not like the barber’s response and, therefore, shot the barber to death. The couple died because they were in the wrong place.
