These are the most ordered cocktails at the Lisbon bar, which is one of the best in the world

It opened its doors in 2015, inspired by the clandestine bars in the USA during Prohibition, and even had a secret room, like the one in American spaces between 1920 and 1933. Today, in a new location, it maintains the spirit and assumes itself, since the first year, as one of the best bars in the world, dedicated to the art of mixology. This year, in the list “The World’s 50 Best Bars”, which by chance distinguishes the 100 best, it occupies position 94, which means a constant presence on this list for the last 8 years.

Emanuel Minez and Paulo Gomes are responsible for Red Frog and the men who, like the alchemists in wizard stories, prepare the mixtures that catapulted the space onto the list of the best in the world. The winner of “The World’s 50 Best Bars” list will be announced on October 22nd and Red Frog will be present at the ceremony. Until then, Paulo Gomes, among cocktail shakers, spirits and liqueurs, reveals to Boa Cama Boa Mesa which cocktails are preferred by the international clientele that frequents Red Frog.

First on the list comes “Bubbles & Troubles” (€18), a refreshing, velvety mix with dry fruity notes. It is made with “Ketel One”, “Alvarinho Pet Nat”, “Cumaru”, “Azores Passion Fruit” and “Greek Yogurt”. The list includes “Aviation” (€15), a “fresh and full-bodied, aromatic and floral” proposal, says Paulo Gomes, who combines “Le Tribute”, “Raw Lavander Gin” and “Cordial purple cabbage” in the glass.

In the next position comes the “Ilusion Negra” (€18), which, explains the mixologist, is “robust, intense with freshness and a spicy finish”. To achieve these flavors, “Don Julio blanco”, “Del Maguey Vida”, “Giffard Piment D’Espelette”, “White Chocolate”, “Chipotle” and “Lima Negra” are combined. The “Fake Wine” (€15) is, according to the creators, “mineral, vegetable in the Orange/Sauvignon Blanc style with a dry finish” with the curious mix of “The Singleton 12”, “Martini Fiero”, “Graham’s Blend Nº5”, “Pimento”, “Tomato water” and “Arugula”. The list ends with the “Alfarrabista” (€16), a cocktail “full-bodied with velvety and spicy notes with a light smoke” created with “Flaming Pig”, “Talisker 10”, “Black Walnut”, “Hazelnut”, “Noisette” and “Spices”.
