Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland’s widow says her husband didn’t die of an ‘overdose’

Jamie Weiland, widow of Scott Weiland, lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots who died in 2015, claimed in a recent interview that he did not die due to a drug overdose, as was reported at the time.

Speaking to the “Appetite For Distortion†podcast, Jamie lamented that her former husband “does not have the respect and recognition he deserves†.

“I feel like when he died, everyone described it as a tragedy, but it was obvious that it was overdose†he said. “It wasn’t. As they detected drugs in his system, the coroner wrote that he died of overdose. But the truth is that the main artery of his left ventricle was 95% blocked, due to ten years of heroin consumption, due to a lifetime of smoking. His heart stopped.

Jamie further explained that Scott had started using drugs again, without telling him. “He lied to me. Every time she caught him we had a big argument,” she said. “But I want to make it very clear that he did not die from a drug overdose. His heart stopped because he was in a very bad condition.
