Shigeru Ishiba: the new leader of the Japanese Government has “some ideas that could cause friction with the United States”
It’s official: Shigeru Ishiba has become the new Prime Minister of Japan. The path to the leadership of the Government was set when the former Minister of Defense won the elections for the presidency of the Liberal Democratic Party (PDL). At a time of tensions involving neighboring countries such as China, North Korea and Russia, Ishiba will make use of his CV. But the focus will also be on diplomatic relations with the United States and its allies.
