Russia claims to have shot down eight Ukrainian drones over Belgorod

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have shot down eight Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region, on the border with Ukraine, in the last few hours.

“During the night, an attempted terrorist attack by the Kiev regime using unmanned aerial devices (drones) against targets in the Russian Federation was neutralized,” the Moscow Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The Russian governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, added that forces located in the area shot down a Ukrainian missile during the early hours of the morning.

Russia maintains the counter-offensive in Kursk with the aim of pushing back the Ukrainian troops that invaded the region on August 6th.

According to the Russian military, more than ten locations were reconquered despite the Moscow Ministry of Defense indicating that Kiev’s forces launched new operations to expand the military presence on Russian territory.
