Roberta Medina: “For me, Rock in Rio at Parque Tejo is to continue. We want to grow”

Guest of SIC Notícias’ “Ediçação da Manhãâ€, Roberta Medina, head of Rock in Rio’s Portuguese operation, reveals her satisfaction with the event’s debut at Parque Tejo, a space where I would like to continue watching the festival in future editions.

“We want to grow. We are not using the entire park space. We already have many ideas: the park offers the possibility of having more entertainment attractions, even more infrastructure, and perhaps more stages. For me, Rock in Rio in Parque Tejo is to continue. And our research says that 70% of the public really enjoyed the experience [aqui]†he says.

Regarding the difficulties expressed in accessing and leaving the venue, Medina repeats the message: “leave the car at home†or use the available parking lots and use the bus ‘shuttles’. “The noise complaints we had were because of people honking at the exit.â€

Faced with a weekend where temperatures are expected to be close to 30°, the festival organizer guarantees that it is possible to take a bottle of water up to 500 ml to the venue “without anyone taking off the cap†. Regarding complaints about dust in Parque Tejo, Medina says that he took advantage of the roads already in place during World Youth Day, “which were already dusty†, and the only way to avoid the formation of dust clouds â “is to pass a truck of water along these roads†, which the organization will do before the doors open.

Rock in Rio expects 60 thousand people on Saturday, a day headlined by the Jonas Brothers, and 80 thousand people (sold out) on Sunday, with Doja Cat as the leading name.
