Public Service: State minimum wage approaches private wage and general increases remain open
The Government proposed to Public Administration unions an increase in the Public Administration remuneration base (BRAP), the equivalent of the minimum wage in the State, to 870.50 euros in 2025. This is an increase of 48.67 euros (5, 9%), compared to the current 821.83 euros, which brings the minimum wage for public servants (generally higher) closer to that of private sector workers.
The announcement was made by the Secretary of State for Public Administration (AP), Marisa Garrido, to representatives of the STE, the Common Front and Fesap, the three AP unions, with whom she met this Wednesday, to negotiate the annual salary appreciation. As for updates to the remaining salary levels, despite the delivery of the State Budget this Thursday, the Secretary of State kept the door open to negotiation, with new meetings scheduled for next week.
