Navegante application returns to normality, TML studies possible internal failure and guarantees that “there was no compromise of personal data”

After starting the month of October without allowing the loading of passes, the Navegante app began to focus all the attention of IT staff at Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa (TML).

It all started, on Monday, with the blocking of the app and a warning about a major cyber attack. On Tuesday, a small chaos ensued with thousands of students who were unable to recharge free passes or insert proof of enrollment in digital format and who had to go to the face-to-face service spaces, while other users who are not students were able to resort to ticket offices and automatic machines, PayShop or specific transport operator apps.

On Wednesday, around lunchtime, the app returned to normal – but the real causes of the congestion have yet to be determined.
