Minister of Health copied part of course delivered to the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lisbon
When she left the administration of Santa Maria Hospital, at the end of last year, Ana Paula Martins delivered a report to the Faculty of Pharmacy with parts copied from an English course. The Minister of Health translated excerpts from the program structure of a course at an English university without mentioning this transcription in her sabbatical leave report from the University of Lisbon. To Expresso, the minister’s office said that there would be no comment for now.
The Faculty of Pharmacy identified “nonconformities†but still approved the report. In the document, the now Minister of Health made a proposal for an advanced training program. According to the minutes to which PÚBLICO had access, the scientific council of the university institution identified the idea as being the “transposition of a pedagogical program already existing at an English university†.
Professor Ana Paula Martins’ sabbatical leave, from December 2020 to December 2021, had among its various objectives the “presentation of a strategic curricular plan to implement that of the advanced training program in Pharmacoepidemiology†. In practice, the proposed Advanced Training Program in Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance had the same name as another that Ana Paula Martins attended, between 2020 and 2022, at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (United Kingdom) and from which he copied part of the structure in his sabbatical leave report.
The frequency of that course is mentioned in the introduction to the program, but, when the structure and objectives of the proposed advanced training are developed, Ana Paula Martins does not mention the translation o, transcription or inspiration in the London course. The base structure is the same, divided into four modules with the same name.
