Minister of Education hopes to have a normalized enrollment process next year

After yet another extension of the deadline for completing the registrations of compulsory education students, this time to July 8, the Minister of Education left a wish: “In the case of the Portal das MatrÃculas, of In fact, we are very sorry that these problems are repeated year after year. We hope that next year we will be able to have a standardized enrollment process.”

Fernando Alexandre was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the UC Factory Lab, a unit at the University of Coimbra that reproduces the environment of a modern factory.

According to the ministry, there were “communication failures” on the part of the Education Financial Management Institute, which manages the Enrollment Portal, “in the instructions to schools for uploading of offers within the scope of specialized artistic education”.

“The postponement of the deadline serves to allow students of specialized artistic education and their families to have more time to enroll in a peaceful manner”, justified the tutelage to the Lusa agency.

During his visit to Coimbra, the government official also spoke about the teacher competition, which “is following the deadlines that were set”.

“I think we will be able to get them published earlier than last year, so I don’t think it will be a problem,” he said.
