Minimum wage, labor law, income agreement: everything open

O This week, the Government presented to the social partners the promised summary of the reinforcement of the income agreement, inherited from the Costa Government. The Minister of Labor, Rosário Palma Ramalho, identified 30 measures whose implementation is delayed or has not progressed. The partners ask to “accelerate what is yet to be accomplished†, so that a new understanding can be negotiated. The minister, who has reiterated that “the Government’s commitment is to comply with what is in force†, does not rule out the possibility of terminating measures from the agreement “if, with the social partners, it reaches the conclusion of that do not make sense today or have been outdated by time”. And she also admits to incorporating into the negotiations of the next income agreement, scheduled for October, the already promised revision of the labor law. “Everything is on the table,†Rosário Palma Ramalho assured journalists at the end of the meeting.
