The funeral of singer Marco Paulo, who died on Thursday at the age of 79, will take place on Saturday afternoon in Lisbon, with the wake starting at 4pm on Friday, at Basílica da Estrela, announced the Servilusa funeral agency.
Marco Paulo’s body will be in a burning chamber between 4pm and 10pm on Friday and 9am and 12pm on Saturday, according to the funeral home, in a statement released today. The funeral will begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday, with a mass of the body present, then proceeding to the Prazeres cemetery, also in Lisbon.
Marco Paulo died “peacefully, in the company of his loved ones”. “At the age of 79, he ended his battle against cancer, at peace and surrounded by all the care and love from family, friends and fans,” shared the artist’s family in a statement released this morning.
