Marco Paulo (1945-2024): “If I say something that isn’t right, it’s natural: I don’t have studies, I didn’t go to university”

In January 2023, Marco Paulo came to Posto Emissor, a BLITZ podcast. The singer began by highlighting that he would not give an interview, but rather talk. And so he did: over the course of more than an hour, the artist who was born in Mourão, in Alentejo, and who before his mother was always João, goes through a life that, he says, was “predestined” for him.

The pride in his first achievements, the episodes of his childhood and adolescence lived in various parts of the country – from Celorico de Basto to Barreiro -, the complicity with his brothers, the little affection he says he received from his father, “Mr. Silva”, a man of few affections, and a career on stage achieved with “a lot of work”, a complete absence of rest and some loneliness, were paraded frankly.

Remember Marco Paulo’s long conversation with BLITZ above, on the day that the voice of ‘Semper que Brilha o Sol’ or ‘Nobody Nobody’ left us, at the age of 79, a victim of cancer.
