The gradual reduction in the IRC rate for companies, one of the measures of the “Accelerate the Economy Program”, has the blessing of the parties to the right of the PSD. Mário Amorim Lopes, from the Liberal Initiative (IL), tells the Express that the proposal represents a “victory†for the party, which is preparing to approve it. André Ventura, for Chega, goes in the same direction, having already assured Lusa that “the reduction in IRC will always be voted in favor by us”.
Regarding the Package of 60 measures, the reactions are less enthusiastic. For IL, some are “interesting†, others are there to “fill†, says Mário Amorim Lopes. As for Chega, the program is “out of step with the Portuguese reality†, and is thinking mainly about large companies, which is why it challenges the Government not to shy away from the debate, in an allusion to technique that has followed of presenting requests for legislative authorization instead of proposed laws.
