Lagarde did everything right in combating inflation, economists argue (and interest rates can continue to fall without risk)
Economists are convinced that the process of disinflation – that is, the process in which inflation rates are reduced to close to the 2% target – will continue and unfold in a “smooth†way, according to a study presented this Tuesday, July 2, at the ECB Forum of the European Central Bank (ECB), in Sintra. Which means that Christine Lagarde and the governors of the eurozone central banks will be able to continue to “cut†policy rates in the near future, after being pioneers in June among large institutions of the kind , as they began the cycle of relief in monetary policy.
