“Lack of investment in the interior” x “contempt for the interior”: CGD branches return to the spotlight, but PS and PSD have changed perch

Caixa Econômica Federal is reformulating its branches across the country, has removed services from some locations, mainly in the interior, and the Workers’ Commission has been vocal in its opposition.

The Socialist Party asked the Ministry of Finance for explanations for the lack of investment in the interior, but, in the years it was in Government (especially with Mário Centeno and Fernando Medina as ministers), it considered that it was not up to the minister to comment on this type of of matters: it was Paulo Macedo’s management that decided based on the criteria agreed by the State with the European Commission.

The answer now lies with Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, from the Government led by the Social Democratic Party, a party that, for years, accused the socialists of the same thing: of despising the interior.
