IRS Young progressive, IRC halfway, pension increases and investment in housing: what is Montenegro’s “irrefutable” proposal
The State Budget for 2025 will only be known on Thursday, but after the proposals presented by Luís Montenegro this Thursday, the trunk of the accounts for next year has practically been done. The margin for changes, according to the Prime Minister, is increasingly short, but Montenegro still admits to “improving some aspects” of the counter-proposal he delivered this Thursday to the leader of the PS, Pedro Nuno Santos, who was left to “reflect ”.
The reflection began on Thursday night, with several socialist leaders meeting at the party headquarters to begin analyzing the counter-proposal. The PS leader did not want to speak, but upon leaving the parliamentary leader, Alexandra Leitão, said that the Government’s proposal “is not irrefutable”. Almost at the same time, on the Now channel, Fernando Medina said that the Government “made a serious effort to get closer” to the PS, but that there is still a lot of negotiation. “We are on the right path towards making the State Budget viable”, stated the former Minister of Finance, even though the proposal is not enough. “It’s a victory for the PSI have no doubts,” he said.
