Iberdrola “steals” from EDP the status of the largest electricity supplier in the industry in Portugal

In the supply of electricity to families, EDP Comercial still has a dominant position: more than 58% of the energy delivered in the liberalized market to domestic customers is billed by EDP. But in the business segment, competition is fiercer. And EDP has just lost a battle, being overtaken by the Spanish Iberdrola in the supply of industrial customersa segment that represents more than 34% of electrical consumption in the free market, just behind the residential segment, with around 36%.
