“I don’t feel good about being hurt by my humor, but if being the butt of a joke is the worst thing that can happen, life will be great. Tomorrow is over”

Why do you think the Pope invited comedians to a meeting at the Vatican?
From what I know, there is a meeting every year with people from these areas, it has been with musicians, and so on. Someday it will reach podcasters. But I don’t think there was a specific reason.

But there was a speech that linked God to comedy.
The speech is very good. APeople tend to judge a lot of what comedians do, in terms of what is or is not correct. Namely, even jokes about God. The Pope was clear in thanking us for our work and says that when we make people laugh, God is laughing with us. Can we make jokes with God? He can. When the head of the church says this, why does Dona Aurora from the parish of Belmonte feel offended when someone makes a joke. It’s just that and people can’t understand it, it’s a joke.

When you have a negative reaction from the target of your joke, what do you think? Do you analyze what you did?
I always reflect on this to understand if I was unfair with something, if I went too far. There are many times when I write something and think it’s funny, but it’s not so funny that it’s worth this punch in the stomach. I make this assessment a lot. It doesn’t feel good to think that someone was hurt by my humor, but I take a step back and think that if being the butt of a joke is the worst that can happen, life will be great. Tomorrow has already passed, two minutes later no one remembers that.
