Five districts on the continent are under yellow warning from today until Friday due to the forecast of hot weather, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

The districts of Évora, Beja, Portalegre, Setúbal, Castelo Branco will be under yellow warning between 12:00 today and 18:00 on Friday due to the persistence of high maximum temperature values.

The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.

The IPMA predicts for today on the continent little cloudy or clear skies, more intense wind on the coastal strip in the afternoon and a small drop in maximum temperature on the north and central coast.

The minimum temperatures will range between 14 degrees Celsius (in Braga and Viana do Castelo) and 24 (in Faro) and the maximum between 23 (in Leiria and Aveiro) and 39 (in Évora and Beja).
