“Harder and dirtier”, epic as always: the first concert of Nick Cave’s new tour told by a long-time fan

Heike is 56 years old, 11 years younger than Nick Cave, and has lost count of the number of times he has seen the Warracknabeal man in person. When the tour for “Wild God”, the Australian’s new album with his Bad Seeds, was announced, he bought a ticket and arranged a trip from the city where he lives, Düsseldorf, to Oberhausen. Hitchhiking with friends, he traveled about an hour to attend the premiere of the tour which, next October 27th, it ‘lands’ at Meo Arena, in Lisbon. With BLITZ, he shared his impressions about the concert, its lineup and several videos and photos from a night where the emphasis was on new songs, but where there was also space for classics like ‘Tupelo’ and ‘From Her to Eternity’ – and some surprises. Marked by Nick Cave’s energy and his cathartic interaction with the audience, the concert earned an enthusiastic verdict from Heike: “Two days after his 67th birthday, he’s still the same stage animal as ever.”
