Goodbye, Marco Paulo: see the images of the farewell that the singer always wanted
The last tribute to Marco Paulo took place this Saturday at the Basílica da Estrela and at the Cemitério dos Prazeres, in Lisbon.
The Estrela Basilica, in Lisbon, was packed with family, friends and admirers of Marco Paulo, who insisted on attending the mass with the body present.
As he wished, the singer’s life was celebrated by hundreds of people who in unison sang part of the repertoire left by Marco Paulo.
And so they walked about a kilometer to the Prazeres cemetery, in Lisbon, where the body of the artist, whose career spanned almost 60 years, was laid to rest.
Emotional, with music and without forgetting the roses – the singer’s favorite flowers – this was the last tribute with people from the north to the south of the country. Some traveled kilometers during the early hours of the morning to be present at the farewell to what was a milestone in Portuguese musical culture.
