Gang of Four have announced a farewell tour, which will tour North America in 2025.
The British band, one of the most acclaimed of the post-punk period, will begin this last tour in Boston, on April 20th, ending in San Diego, on May 29th. No dates have been announced for Europe.
On this latest tour, Gang of Four will perform, in its entirety, the classic “Entertainment!” (1979), “home” to songs like ‘Damaged Goods’ or ‘At Home He’s a Tourist’. Other successes and some rarities from the group in the lineups are also promised.
In a statement, Gang of Four say that “it’s been wonderful, but everything ends.” “We want to go out big and celebrate with our fans and friends”, it reads.
Formed in 1976 in Leeds, Gang of Four today has two original members: vocalist Jon King and drummer Hugo Burnham. Guitarist Andy Gill passed away in 2020, with David Pajo (Slint) taking his place.
In 2023, Gang of Four headlined one of the nights at Luna Fest, in Coimbra.
