Defense admits reviewing weapons purchases and makes the biggest increase in salaries and maintenance in years

The State Budget for 2025 presents the best scenario for the Armed Forces in many years, with Defense growing 11% in relation to what is estimated to be spent this year. The percentage of increase in military spending would still be higher if the comparison were with what the previous PS Government planned to spend in 2024. The biggest highlight, however, is the substantial increase in personnel expenses (more €100 million), an increase of 8.3%, the result of the package that increased military subsidies to equate them with the Security Forces.
