Iran launched around 200 missiles at Israel, hitting cities such as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. This attack was in retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Israel responded by activating its defense systems, such as the Iron Dome, which intercepted most of the missiles, although some hit targets, including the Nevatim air base.
