Broadcasting Station #201: BLITZ invites Álvaro Covões. From the news of NOS Alive to the need for a 25th of November in culture

Ãlvaro Covões, director of the show promoter Everything Is New and responsible for the NOS Alive festival, which returns to Algés in two weeks, is this week’s guest on Posto Emissor, a BLITZ podcast.

In conversation with Lia Pereira, the live music entrepreneur talks about the next edition of the festival he created 17 years ago, and which has Pearl Jam one of the main assets (the day on which Eddie Vedder’s band performed sold out very quickly), but also about the evolution of the world of shows in Portugal since 1995, the year in which, still in Música no Coraçà o, started organizing concerts.

Criticism of the State’s cultural policy, which led him to state that culture in Portugal needs a 25th of November, were another of the themes of the podcast, where we also talked about the edition of 20th anniversary of Rock in Rio Lisboa, which came to an end last weekend at Parque Tejo; from the article by LuÃs Pinheiro Almeida about Portugal in the year the Beatles’ “White Album†was released (in 1968), and of the next week’s concerts.
