Attack with “pagers” in Lebanon: “probable” error by Israel or “the beginning of a new escalation of tensions” with Hezbollah?

Several international newspapers, from the “Washington Post” to Al-Monitor, say that Israel was afraid that Hezbollah would suspect booby traps in communications devices and, for this reason, decided precipitate the attack.
