Attack with “pagers” in Lebanon: “probable” error by Israel or “the beginning of a new escalation of tensions” with Hezbollah?

A week ago, pagers they exploded in the hands and pockets of Lebanese people, some from the Hezbollah militia, others civilians, including children. The next day, it was the walkie-talkies. Around 40 people died and 3,000 were injured in these two attacks that were attributed to Israel. Tel Aviv usually does not complain about clandestine actions by the Mossad (secret services), but the silence is giving rise to theories surrounding the timing of attacks: why now?

Several international newspapers, from the “Washington Post” to Al-Monitor, say that Israel was afraid that Hezbollah would suspect booby traps in communications devices and, for this reason, decided precipitate the attack. O independent pan-Arab news website writes that two members of the Iranian-backed Islamist group discovered the Mossad plan and managed to defuse one of the bombs hidden in the pagerswhile another exploded.
