“As my belly grew, the music grew too. I had a very active pregnancy”: Mayra Andrade at Posto Emissor

Mayra Andrade explained, on the Posto Emissor podcast, how the birth of the show that gave rise to “reEncanto”, a live album that she released on October 11th, intertwined with the moment when she was pregnant with her daughter. “As my belly grew, so did the music,” confesses the Cape Verdean artist.

“I felt a deep need to withdraw into music, to not take plane trips, to be calmer”, adds Mayra, “I had a very active pregnancy: it went through the ‘Manga’ tour, the appearances I made, the play of contemporary dance ‘Pantera’, and culminated in the beginning of ‘reEncanto’”.
