How To Switch AirPods To Another Device With Just Three Taps

Apple Inc.’s AAPL AirPods are perhaps among the iPhone maker’s most convenient pieces of technology. Now, Apple has made it much easier to switch AirPods to another device quickly.

What Happened: The Cupertino, California-based company announced that the iOS 17 update improves AirPods’ ability to automatically switch between connected devices. Apple says the process is now “easier, faster, and more reliable,” but sometimes, doing it manually is easier.

For what it’s worth, Apple has underlined that the AirPods switching experience will get better on iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and later models – basically all the iPhones that will get the iOS 17 update.

You should also experience faster switching speeds on AirPods (2nd generation and later), AirPods Pro (first and second generation), and AirPods Max.

You will need your Apple devices logged in with the same Apple ID for automatic switching to work.

But did you know that manually switching AirPods to another device is quite fast enough? Here’s how you can do it with just three taps:

How To Switch AirPods To Another Device

  • Swipe down to open the Control Center On Your iPhone or iPad.
  • Touch and hold the audio/now playing card in the top right corner.
  • Now, tap the streaming icon that is visible in the top right corner of the audio card.
