Broadcasting Station #212: BLITZ invites Gisela João. From new freedom songs to sexual catharsis on stage

Gisela João is this week’s guest on the Posto Emissor podcast. The fado singer performs on December 12th BLITZ 40th anniversary party, at Meo Arena, in Lisbon.

Talking to Lia Pereira, the artist who shares her birthday with BLITZ (born in Barcelos on November 6, 1983, exactly one year before the first BLITZ newspaper hit newsstands) spoke about her new project, which will be performed live at BLITZ party, which will also have performances by Xutos & Pontapés, MARO and Capitão Fausto.

Last summer, Gisela João took a show dedicated to the songs of freedom to festivals such as Bons Sons, singing songs by José Afonso. Following the success of this concert, he will release these and other songs by authors linked to freedom in Portugal on record.

In addition to this revelation, the Minho singer spoke about the liberation she feels on stage, comparing it to a sexual catharsis; about the crisis of motivation he felt, and overcame, recently, and about the impact of the enthusiastic reviews that, 11 years ago, he received for his debut album.

Nick Cave’s show in Lisbon, on Sunday; the death of Liam Payneex-One Direction; the special show of Selma Uamusse no CCB and the next week’s concerts complete this week’s edition of Posto Emissor.
