Marco Paulo (1945-2024): he was the king of Portuguese popular song and will not be forgotten

Marco Paulo, who died today, will always be one of the great figures of our past. We can bet that the next generations will remember him. He started very active in the 60s, and entered the 70s where he was caught up in the revolution, like other figures. Democracy would eventually accept him as a kind of harmless artist. It would not be through a singer like that that the Reaction (ie, Fascism) would have to pass. It helps that Marco Paulo himself did not have political positions or enter into controversies in those (and other) times. For those who grew up listening to it in the 70s, 80s and 90s, Marco Paulo was often a comedic refuge.
