Fiscal spending on non-habitual residents will “jump” by almost €500 million in 2025, the biggest increase ever
The government predicts that in 2025 tax expenditure on the non-habitual resident regime (RNH) will have the biggest increase since it was created in 2009: almost €500 million compared to forecast for 2024, to a record €1, 7 billion, according to the State Budget proposal for 2025 (OE2025) delivered by the Executive.
Tax experts admit that the transitional regime, created between the end of the RNH and the beginning of the IFICI (tax incentive for scientific research and innovation) has led to a rush of orders. O Express requested clarification from the Ministry of Finance regarding this increase and is awaiting a response.
