A 31-year-old man entered a cafe in Quinta do Conde, on the south bank of the Tagus, and allegedly confessed that he tried to kill his five-year-old son, forcing him to drink gasoline and pills. He also tried to suffocate his own son with a blanket, who, according to Jornal de Notícias, is receiving treatment at Hospital São Bernardo, in Setúbal, with his health status unknown.
An authorized GNR source says that this force received a telephone alert this Monday “around nine in the morning” reporting a serious attack on a minor. When they arrived at the crime scene, they found a five-year-old child, alone and seriously injured.
“The soldiers at the scene noticed that a man had entered a cafe and confessed that he had killed his son, running away”, The suspect would be arrested in Fernão Ferro and “had clear signs of disturbance”. He was taken to the GNR post and handed over to the Setúbal PJ, which has the legal authority to investigate the crime.
According to TVI, the suspect is Nuno Silva, a former participant in the “Love on Top” contest. Before the crime, she would have revealed on social media that she was a victim of sexual abuse as a child and confessed to suicide attempts.
The suspect has another son, a six-year-old boy, who was not at home.
