Confederation of retired people wants a 5% increase in the value of pensions

The National Confederation of Retirees, Pensioners and Elderly People (Murpi) defends the increase in the value of pensions by 5%, in a manifesto sent to the Legislative Assembly in which it also calls for the granting of a family doctor to all retirees.

The measures are contained in a manifesto sent today to deputies of the Assembly of the Republic, with the priorities for the State Budget for 2025.

With regard to pensions, the confederation defends the increase by 5%, at least 70 euros, and the creation of two more levels for minimum pensions, in order to value long contributory careers and avoiding the use of the solidarity supplement for elderly .

The solidarity supplement, given to elderly people with low incomes, should also increase in value by 100 euros, he proposes.

Another of the measures advocated in the manifesto provides for the allocation of a family doctor and nurse to all retirees, as well as the creation of priority criteria for access to consultations and treatments in medical and surgical specialties.

Still in the area of health, Murpi advocates the strengthening of all aspects of integrated continued care units and the palliative care network, home support and necessary means, and the network of equipment and support services for the elderly.

In terms of transport and mobility, the manifesto highlights the need for a free intermodal pass valid for the entire country and the restoration of protection for elderly people when renewing rental contracts.

On the other hand, the confederation calls for the strengthening of the role of social security and ADSE, in order to ensure the supervision and quality of nursing homes, the free use of facilities that are Social Security assets by retired associations, and the expansion to a public financing network for the current network of homes managed by non-profit institutions.

It is also advocated to reinforce the contribution for the operation of social centers, day centers and residential structures for the elderly, and the creation of financing lines for recreational and cultural activities.
