Interview with Thurston Moore: “Like everyone, I have moments of depression. But when I pick up a guitar, everything changes.”

For Thurston Moore there is definitely life after Sonic Youth. The 66-year-old American musician takes a video call from BLITZ to discuss his latest album, “Flow Critical Lucidity”, a work that features lyrics by his wife, Eva Prinz, who signs as Radieux Radio. Disk woke – according to him – “Flow Critical Lucidity” was written in an artistic residence on the shores of Lake Geneva, an idyllic setting that led the guitarist, composer and singer to think about the Earth and the mistreatment that civilization imposes on it. With a jovial air, despite complaining about some health problems, and a permanent smile on his face, Thurston Moore remains passionate about music, saying he is disconnected from the culture of streaming and he’s not exactly interested in rushing out on the road for a long tour, which could bring him to Portugal: “I prefer special shows”, he says.
