Festival Iminente this weekend in Lisbon with Dealema, Sam the Kid, Tristany and Cíntia: entry is free

“Participation” is the theme of the Iminente festival, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday in a ‘Takeover’ version, in the gardens of the Lisbon Museum – Palácio Pimenta, with music, visual arts, dance and conversations, free entry. In addition to the theme, “Participation” is also the format and philosophy followed by the organization in recent years.

With a “multidisciplinary” program, this year’s Iminente Takeover lineup includes twenty musical performances, “by established artists and imminent artists”, which will take place alternately on two stages.

The Dealema collective, Sam The Kid, in a DJ set with DJ Big and Afrokillerz are today’s musical highlights, in a program that, on both days, also includes Tristany, Silly, Shaka Lion, Oma, Marfox or Cíntia. The musical program also includes moments created within the scope of the “Neighborhoods” program, projects developed by artists and the community in five neighborhoods in São Paulo.

On Sunday, there will be musical performances created with the mediation of Maze and Marfox, in Alta de Lisboa, and a dance performance, with a group of residents over 65 years old from PER 11, mediated by Inês Oliveira.

The visual arts works resulting from projects developed by João Fortuna, Kiam, Sepher and Atelier JQTS will be on display during the festival. The Visual Arts program, “marked for being interdisciplinary and unprecedented”, includes, in addition to the result of the “Neighborhoods” program, two other projects, “started a year ago”: “Residencies” and “Participation”.

In the “Residencies” project, three groups of artists were invited “to jointly create multidisciplinary works” that will be revealed during the festival. One of the groups is composed of Batida, Carlota Lagido and Cárin Geada, another by the group Lila Fadista, Piny and Vês Três and the third by Xullaji, Gaya de Medeiros and ±MaisMenos±. The first two groups will present performance installations, and the last an immersive interactive installation.

In the “Participation” project, works of visual arts will be presented, “especially in the field of digital arts”, created by the Portuguese collective Unidigrazz and three foreign artists, the French Maotik and Sadik and the Australian Moffat. Everything displayed “is temporary”. In other words, no work will remain in the gardens of the Lisbon Museum.

At the venue, which opens at 3pm on each day, there will be a food area, with spaces “mostly managed by partner associations of the ‘Bairros’ program”, and several bars. Entry to the Imminent Takeover is free. No ticket required, just show up until maximum capacity is reached. The place has capacity for around two thousand people. The Lisbon Museum — Palácio Pimenta, in Campo Grande, will be open at its usual times, between 10am and 6pm.
