Lisbon Chamber will file a complaint with the PGR for non-compliance with the AIA legal regime in the works at Lisbon airport
The Lisbon City Council approved, this Wednesday, by majority vote, a proposal from the PS that obliges municipal services to present a precautionary measure to “prevent imminent injury resulting from the carrying out of expansion works at Humberto Delgado Airport”. At issue are the works to expand airport capacity, approved by the current Government, which presupposes an increase in aircraft movements from 38 to 45, “failing to comply with the legal regime of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)“.
The proposal, approved by the nine members of the opposition in the executive (PS, PCP, Livre, BE and Cidadãos por Lisboa) was voted against by the seven members of the “Novos Tempos” coalition, led by Carlos Moedas.
