Marcelo postpones trips to Estonia and Poland scheduled for next week

The head of state, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, decided to postpone trips to Estonia and Poland scheduled for next week and remain in the country, taking into account the ongoing budget negotiations.

“With the deadline for submitting the State Budget bill for 2025 to the Assembly of the Republic ending on October 10th, but with the Government still taking steps, particularly with the PS, with a view to concluding such a proposal, the President of the Republic considered it wiser to postpone the planned trip to Estonia and Poland next week and remain in the country”, a source from the Presidency of the Republic told Lusa.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa had planned to travel to Estonia between Monday and Thursday, for a state visit, at the invitation of his counterpart, Alar Karis, and then to Krakow, Poland, between Thursday and Friday, for the 19th .th informal meeting of the Arraiolos Group.
